Over the years, men have been at the top of the leading board, dominating the business world. But, the rise of influential women launched a whole new era for businesswomen worldwide.

Though, not all people see failures as a turning point. For most of us, it’s generally game over. Once we see a dead end, we suddenly stop chasing our goals. However, for some of women entrepreneurs, failure is just the start of an amazing success story.

Two great examples of international businesswomen who turned failure into a success story are Coco Chanel and Estée Lauder.

Care to know who they are?

Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel, a fashion designer in France, became famous for her timeless designs, trademark suits, and little black dresses. She endured most of her design career during World War I. Although she could have left, she remained where her career started.

The designer faced challenges in securing finances, assembling a new staff, seeking new fabrics, and competing at age seventy against a new generation of designers. But she never gave up.

Coco Chanel enjoyed great success as she had a net worth of $100 million and ruled for six-decades before she died.

Estée Lauder is another woman entrepreneur who endured great hardship before seeing profound success.

Estée Lauder

Estée Lauder was an American beautician and business executive who started a beauty company with a skin cream developed by her chemist uncle. After years of selling products on her own, she officially formed Estée Lauder Cosmetics Inc. in 1946. She was a challenger who proved that anything was possible.

Mrs. Estée Lauder started her business with four skincare products and a simple premise: that every woman can be beautiful. Armed with that philosophy, plus perseverance, creativity, and passion, she changed the cosmetics industry’s face.

Lauder’s innovative marketing strategies made her the richest self-made woman in the world.
